Godaddy shared hosting FAIL
These idiots have no idea what they're doing. It's posted all over their website that they support ASP.NET 3.5. Which one would suppose means that they support LINQ too. But apparently thier server guys have never read the .NET readme. Which states (in section 2.3.1.4) that they need to modify the configuration for Medium Trust to allow the LINQ framework to do its stuff. Their "support" is nothing but taking your money and insisting that they can't make this change, and that their website is still correct.
I hate finding out about these things like this. Why dosn't their website say something like "Supports .NET 3.5 except LINQ". Especially in their KB "What is Medium Trust and how does it affect my application?" There's no mention of LINQ not being supported.
BTW: The error I was getting is a SecurityException related to the lack of ReflectPermission. Just lovely.

Basically, GoDaddy just needs to update their website. They support .NET 3.0 only. Not 3.5. And they were very unwilling to admit it. After reviewing with the support person that LINQ and LINQ-Related features were the only thing added to ASP.NET 3.5, and that none of them were supported, he still insisted that they would support .NET 3.5, but not the ASP.NET LinqDataSource. What part of "support" does this guy not understand?? I've gone and signed up with DiscountASP.NET. This is the second time GoDaddy has dissapointed me with their so-called support. After 6 years and all the awards, I thought they would have improved. I guess only their marketing has improved.

We do in fact support 3.5. We also support LINQ. If you confirm the domain name, then we can take a look at the server your account is on. Thank you.

The account has been canceled. I'm very impressed by the honesty of DiscountASP.net and with their selection of PRE-INSTALLED community packages. A number of things like UrlRewriter are already installed into the GAC for me! These guys really are on top of their game and deserve their #1 rating....now if only their self-service pages were usable...

Godaddy is the worst. I have been dealing with them for a week now regarding if AJAX is installed on their servers. I am never going to use them again.
