iPod Armor

Ok. The plastic cover from the invisibleSHIELD people got here and I applied it to my nano. This stuff is really tough. I've no fear of scratches any more. More than that, the slight scratches (they were pretty noticable) are completely invisible once covered by the shield. Their AppleSauce polishing system is really amazing. A bit difficult to use (very similar to professional waxes and polishes), but the results are OUTSTANDING. After following their directions, give it an hour to set, and you will be astonished. The kit comes with a 2-part plastic polish (one bottle for deep scratches, followed by a fine finisher), and a paste for the chrome back of the iPod. The bottles were a bit on the small side, but the whole kit was very cheap and affordable. I'm completely satisfied. This is something I will keep for future plastic devices which are prone to scratching. (hopefully not many more in the future)

A word about the invisibleSHIELD. The stuff is TOUGH. OMG TOUGH. Application requires patience (see the review link in my previous blog entry) but the results are outstanding. It actually makes the iPod feel much more substantial (if that is possible), and gives it a slight rubbery feeling in your hands. Unfortunately, the feel of the click-wheel is barely noticeable, and is very difficult to operate by touch alone. I've bought myself one of the metal keychain cases for my cute little baby. When it gets here, I'm going to peel and cut the invisibleSHIELD so that it protects only the screen. Then it will be perfect.
